Keeping in mind the increasing consumer expectations and changing consumption patterns, companies constantly innovate new products. Recognizing those innovations in food and beverage industry, SIAL - the world’s biggest food exhibition which started in 1964 in Paris, has chosen 5 Indian companies among the 10 finalists from across globe for the first edition of SIAL Innovation Awards to be held during SIAL India on 19^thSep at Pragati Maidan.

“It is the first time in India that a range of international innovative products will compete under one roof" announced Mr. Rajan Sharma, Managing Director, Interads Exhibitions & SIAL India organiser, "The platform will attract opportunities for the companies winning the most prestigious award of SIAL Innovation. In the ever growing food market, the platform will also help companies in introducing new trends, helping to launch products in new territories, solving diversity, quality and safety issues."

Apart from the Indian companies, one each from Finland, South Korea, USA, Poland and Bulgaria have been shortlisted to compete in the SIAL Innovation Awards. Jury comprising of industry experts and leaders like Xavier Terlet, Professor Junghoon Moon, Chef Manjit Gill, Akkharawit Kanjana-opas, Ms. Rashmi Uday Singh have shortlisted these innovative products in terms of - technology, ingredients, recipe, equipment and services.

The platform is a unique celebration of innovative food and beverage products from across the globe. The SIAL Innovation prizes are awarded to those who help shape what we consume. 

By bringing SIAL Innovation in India for the first time, SIAL aims to bring new and innovative food products in the market. Among the shortlisted food and beverage products are sugar with low glycemic index level, veg burger & falafel, natural regional honey with guaranteed traceability, honey with organic saffron, kimchi mix, cocktail in recyclable can, sauces in tubes, cocktail mix in pouch, organic amaranth cookies, wine and cider beverages in cans. 

International buyers from ASEAN, Gulf and other countries along with Indian buyers from will participate in this event to explore Indian made goods.
